WARNING:
When your package arrives open your package with care! The front side of a plate may more likely than not be directly beneath a seam. So it would be unwise to cut tape by running a sharp object through the seam if you can't see the orientation of the plate within the package. If your package is sealed with cardboard staples then be sure to remove all the staples before opening the package. You've waited a few days for the package to arrive. So please take the extra few minutes to open with care.
Ebay has notified me that they will guarantee a specific delivery time for my packages
because of my past track record in shipping things out. Please be aware that I use USPS First Class service on all packages weighing 16 oz. or less and USPS Priority service for packages weighing over a pound. Tracking is automatic on almost all items I ship out. The only exception is for the few items light weight and thin enough to fit in a standard envelope [These would be things like stickers, decals, thin booklets/pamphlets, etc.].
Now if you are one of those few customers who is pressed for time in getting your package then let's see if we can make this work for you [Examples: A birthday coming up soon, you need it to arrive at your vacation location before you leave or some other limited-time situation]. Send me an email [the sooner the better - preferably when you've made a decision to bid on an item] and explain the situation because in certain circumstances there might be something I can do to increase the chances of an early arrival [and I will give you my experienced opinion of your chances of success].
This doesn't mean I would upgrade to a more expensive service at your request without having to charge more. However, it does mean that there are some things I can do that might increase the chances of the item arriving a day earlier. I've had experience with dealing with the post office and I know the basics of how things work. The random element in this is the postal system itself so nothing's foolproof. But maybe I can increase your odds on your targeted delivery time.
Please note that you get
Free Shipping
so that the bid price that you see is your exact cost for this item
shipped right to your door
! This applies to all auctions that are shipped within the U.S.A. See costs below for anything shipped outside the U.S.
Sales Tax
Ebay might directly collect sales tax from your state. Check the "Shipping and Payments" section to see if your state is included in that. If you are in one of those states and are buying for resale you'll need to submit evidence to Ebay according to the law of your state to get a sales tax exemption.
Be aware that my auctions are almost always for a single plate.
The exception to that is if you see the plural "plates" in the auction headline in which case I will make it clear what all you're getting in the photo(s).
Shipping and Packing Terms
Winner of this auction agrees to take possession of this entire lot (where the lot includes more than one item) and please note that if you've won anything else today or if you win anything else later today you will need to have all items paid (cleared payment) for before I ship.
In the U.S.
Winners in the USA will pay NO Shipping/Handling Charges whatsoever. I will plan on including all items that are won the same day in the same package . I don't charge you for shipping so I do this because I need do this to keep costs down on my end. If you have paid for part, but not all items won the same day, it will delay my releasing the package to the post office until all items are paid. This will be true even if tracking has been uploaded.
In Canada
Shipping and Packing to Canada is a flat .00 for all auction wins shipped in the same package no matter what the weight is. However if any lot you've won has a higher stated flat rate then the rate stated here reverts to that higher flat rate. This would happen if you win a lot that contains three or more plates. We refuse to falsify our customs declarations in any way when we ship.
Shipping is only .00 for everything you can win over a three week period as long as you follow these guidelines:
1). Pay only when you are ready to ship (then all winnings will ship in the same package)
2). Remember that when you pay I must ship (any winnings after you pay will have to go in a different package at an additional cost)
3). Do not delay payment past 23 days from your oldest win because eBay will begin non-payer proceedings against you (Mark your calendar, you don't want that!)
4). Remember this: You will receive invoices once or twice a week during the whole period you choose to gather up all your winnings to go in one package. That is normal because I want you to have the corrected shipping available to you when you are ready to pay. Just pay when you are ready. When you pay I will ship. Just be aware of the 23 day deadline and pay before then (Mark it on your calendar).
5). Occasionally when you are ready the shipping price on the invoice might not be correct. Let me know and I will correct it for you.
In Sweden
Sweden sometimes allows a large percent envelopes to pass through customs without a tariff being charged.
Read on to learn what you must and must not do to take advantage of this.
Shipping and Packing to Sweden is a flat .00 for all auction wins shipped in the same package no matter what the weight is. However if any lot you've won has a higher stated flat rate then the rate stated here reverts to that higher flat rate. This would happen if you win a lot that contains three or more plates. Occasionally, an item will not fit in an envelope. In that case it (and any other excessively large items) must ship separately at an additional .00 charge for that package. That will guarantee a customs charge in that case. Usually in our auctions we show a comparison of a larger plate with a standard sized plate when the plate is larger than standard. You'll need to ask us if it will fit if you are considering buying it. We refuse to falsify our customs declarations in any way when we ship.

6).
How you are sometimes able avoid customs tariffs:
If you win 5 or more items you can instruct me to ship your items in an envelope (If you win 4 items or less then they will go into a package). You need to send me an email EACH TIME before you pay if you want to have them sent in an envelope. Then wait till I acknowledge having received your email before you pay. There is a 4 lb. limit on what can go in an envelope (2.2 lbs. = 1 kg.). So you may need to consult me to see if what you are winning will work.
RULE OF THUMB:
If you are winning license plates you can figure that 2 steel plates equals 1 lb. and 3 aluminum plates equals 1 lb. I also need about 1/2 lb. for packing materials as well. If you are winning nonstandard sized plates you will need to contact me.
DISCLAIMER:
We will not be responsible if Sweden goes ahead and charges a tariff on your envelope contents (however, I'd like to know if that happens). Currently we are finding that most envelopes pass customs without a customs charge. Whether or not you get charged is arbitrary. However if it's sent in a standard package it will get charged regardless. The upshot? You MIGHT get charged if it's in an envelope and you WILL get charged if it's in a package.
In All Other Countries
not listed above that are outside the U.S.
Shipping and Packing to all other countries not listed above that are outside the U.S is a flat .00 for all auction wins shipped in the same package no matter what the weight is. However if any lot you've won has a higher stated flat rate then the rate stated here reverts to that higher flat rate. This would happen if you win a lot that contains three or more plates. Occasionally items we sell are restricted in some way in certain countries. If that happens it can greatly increase what you will need to pay to have us ship. Check with your customs department and/or your postal service if you are not sure. We refuse to falsify our customs declarations in any way when we ship.
